On October 24, 2024, a cooperation agreement was signed between the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA) and the St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPbB RAS).

The main goal of the agreement is to strengthen cooperation between the two scientific institutions in the fields of science, technology, and scientific education.

The agreement was signed by NAS RA President, Academician Ashot Saghyan, and President of the St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Andrey Rudskoy.

Acting Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of NAS RA, Gohar Iskandaryan, participated in this important event and delivered a speech.

Emphasizing the importance of bilateral cooperation with the St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ms. Iskandaryan expressed her full readiness to deepen collaboration between the Institute of Oriental Studies and both the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts and the Institute for the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Ms. Iskandaryan also noted that the interests of the Institute’s Departments of Oriental Source Studies and Historiography, Ancient East, and Christian East closely align with the interests of the aforementioned institutions in St. Petersburg.
