On October 31, the Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Armenia, Mohammad Asadi Movahedi, visited the Institute of Oriental Studies of the RA National Academy of Sciences.

During his meeting with Acting Director Gohar Iskandaryan, Mr. Movahedi emphasized the importance of deepening Armenian-Iranian scientific cooperation. He highlighted the need to create opportunities for young researchers to study Iran, collaborate with Iranian experts, and access local academic resources.

Gohar Iskandaryan noted that the Institute can serve as a bridge for expanding scientific collaboration between Armenian and Iranian scholars, fostering knowledge exchange, and promoting joint research projects.

Both sides underlined the significance of strengthening scientific ties between the two countries and agreed to sign a new memorandum of cooperation in the near future.

The meeting was also attended by Levon Hovsepyan, Head of the Turkish Department; Ashkhen Gevorgyan, Senior Laboratory Assistant and PhD student of the Iranian Department; and Alen Hayrapetyants, Assistant to the Head of the Iranian Cultural Center in Armenia.
