The Department of Cultural Heritage (DBC) and the Department of History and Cultures (DISCI) of the University of Bologna, in collaboration with ISMEO – The International Association for Mediterranean and Oriental Studies, organized an international conference: "Armenia in the Hellenistic-Roman Age: between tradition and innovation" in Ravenna on November 18-19, 2025. A scholar of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia Dr. Ruben Manasseryan gave his paper at this conference "Rethinking the Cult of Dionysus in Armenia in the 1st Century BC" in which he revealed that in Armenia under the reign of Tigranes the Greath, the Zoroastrian dualism was developed by introducing Dionysus in place of the Evil Spirit․
