
On 10 December 2025, the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia published the proceedings of the international conference Regional Transformations and Armenia: Security Shifts, compiled and edited by Grigor Vardanyan, Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Arab Countries. The publication was made possible with the support of the All-Armenian Foundation Financing Armenological Studies.
The collected papers reflect the regional transformations unfolding within the contemporary geopolitical environment and the security challenges these developments pose for the Republic of Armenia.
The volume encompasses diverse and multidimensional studies. Contributors examine developments in North Africa, emerging security challenges across Africa, and the evolution and prospects of the Syrian conflict. The proceedings also analyse the multilayered nature of relations involving Russia, France, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Azerbaijan. In addition, the volume assesses the regional interests and policy priorities of Israel, Turkey, Iran, and the Gulf Arab states.
Overall, the proceedings offer a comprehensive overview of current geopolitical dynamics and their implications for Armenia’s national security.
