From July 23 to 28 of this year, Gohar Iskandaryan, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the NAS of the Republic of Armenia, was on a working visit to the People's Republic of China.

Within the framework of the visit, she met with Sun Zhuangzhi, Director of the Institute of Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Deputy Director Jin Zhe, and other employees of the institute. Taking into account the agreement signed in 2022 between the Institute of Oriental Studies of the NAS of the Republic of Armenia and the Institute of Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, it was decided to give a new impetus to the cooperation between the two institutions, organize scientific conferences and workshops on issues of mutual interest.

Within the framework of the working visit, G. Iskandaryan, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the NAS of the Republic of Armenia, On July 24, he participated in the international summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Media and Analytical Centers under the title “Cooperation for Common Development”, delivering a report on “Armenia’s Path in a Multipolar World: The SCO Context”, which received positive feedback.

In parallel with the official agenda of the summit, visits were also made to Chinese scientific and cultural centers, leading manufacturing enterprises, and historical and cultural heritage sites.
