On October 7, 2025, a working meeting took place at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia between Assoc. Prof. Gohar Iskandaryan and Vadim Mukhanov, Head of the Caucasus Department at the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO).

During the meeting, the parties discussed new opportunities for cooperation and issues related to further academic collaboration. They reviewed the achievements and scholarly events of previous years, emphasizing their scientific and political significance. Both sides expressed mutual readiness to continue and expand joint research in various fields.

The participants also highlighted the importance of publishing analytical works on contemporary security issues in the Middle East and the Caucasus region. Vadim Mukhanov presented in detail the main research directions of the Primakov Institute.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Russian scholar donated a collection of recent academic publications from the Primakov Institute to the Institute of Oriental Studies.

The meeting was also attended by Academician Ruben Safrastyan, Advisor to the Director of the Institute; Assoc. Prof. Araks Pashayan, Candidate of Political Sciences and Head of the Department of International Relations; and Assoc. Prof. Gohar Mkhitaryan, Senior Researcher at the Department of Christian Orient Studies.
