From October 3 to 5, 2025, Gohar Iskandaryan, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of NAS RA and PhD in History, Associate Professor, and Levon Hovsepyan, Head of the Turkey Department and PhD in History, Associate Professor, participated in a three-day workshop organized by the Caucasus Institute under the name “Regional and Global Actors in the South Caucasus: Implications for Armenia’s Foreign and Security Policy.”

Representatives of the Institute presented reports outlining their scholarly approaches and analyses. Their participation aligns with the provisions of the cooperation agreement signed in 2024 between the Institute of Oriental Studies and the Caucasus Institute, which envisages regular expert discussions and joint research initiatives.

During the workshop, participants discussed the political strategies of global and regional actors in the South Caucasus and neighboring regions, recent developments, and the potential implications of these processes for Armenia’s foreign and security policy.

The event was attended by representatives from the Office of the National Security Council of Armenia, the Ministry of Defense, as well as leading specialists and analysts from academic and expert circles.
