
Levon Hovsepyan, PhD in History and Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Turkish Studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, participated upon the invitation of the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in the international conference titled “High-Quality Development of the Belt and Road Initiative: Concepts and Actions” held in Beijing on November 18-19 of this year.
In his presentation titled “Building Bridges Through Science and Technology: Science Diplomacy within the Belt and Road Initiative (Narratives and Practice)”, he addressed the role of science diplomacy within China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), viewing it as a multidimensional tool for global engagement and for shaping cooperative, sustainable narratives. The report also outlined the opportunities and prospects for Armenia-China cooperation in the context of science diplomacy.
